On-device storage
Spent stores expense, card, budget and subscription records in a database on your device. You do not need an account. Spent has no server that receives your expenses, and uses no advertising or analytics services.
Photos, camera and voice
Only screenshots and receipt photos you select are read. The camera opens only when you scan a receipt with Fişi tara (Scan receipt), and the receipt image is not stored. Text recognition and suggestions run on your device. In-app voice entry uses only on-device Turkish speech recognition. If this is not supported, the microphone does not start and text entry is offered instead.
You can turn off camera, microphone and speech recognition permissions in iPhone Settings. Text entry does not depend on these permissions. If you use Siri or Shortcuts, these system services are subject to Apple’s privacy terms.
Exported backups and CSV files
Exported full backup and CSV files are created only when you choose to export them. The sharing and retention conditions of the location you select in Files apply. You must delete these files separately.
Safety copies on your device
Before a restore, a safety copy of your current records is saved on your device. It is replaced by a new safety copy before the next restore. It does not expire or get automatically deleted after a set time.
A safety copy is also stored on your device before data migration. This migration copy is created if an existing database is present and a copy for that migration does not already exist. It is not overwritten on later launches and has no automatic deletion period.
A record you delete from the app may remain in these earlier safety copies. Deleting an individual record does not clear the copies. The pre-restore copy remains until replaced by the next copy; the migration copy remains on the device until the app is completely deleted.
Deleting records and the app
You can delete your records in the app. Completely deleting Spent from your iPhone removes its local data and on-device safety copies. You must delete exported files separately. iOS device backups depend on your system settings.
This website
spent.day counts visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics: which page was opened, where the visit came from, country and browser type. No cookies are used and no identifier is created to recognise you. This counting covers the website only; the app has no analytics.
Security and contact
An optional Face ID or device passcode lock is available. Backup files are not separately encrypted. They contain expense information, so choose their destination carefully.
